They started framing today! and as always I took WAAAYY to many photos! But I just couldn't help myself I may come back later and add captions...but its been a very long day so right now I am not going to. Enjoy :)
I have not been blogging for a few days as I was way to anxious. I was not seeing much progress and I knew that I would have said things I regretted as they are not true. Isn't in funny how crazy building a house can make you feel? So today I feel much much much better! It seemed that nothing had been done since last Tuesday (before Thanksgiving) and we had not heard from our PM. By Wednesday (Yesterday) we had not heard anything from our PM since the Tuesday before Thanksgiving. At that time he told us that the floors were going to be pored and they would start framing Wednesday (Yesterday). So I sent him an email yesterday morning just asking for an update and he emailed me back today. He said they were poring our floors today and starting framing tomorrow! So I convinced Hubby to go out in the cold and drive with me to the site. I was so glad we did! When we arrived we immediately saw two large stacks of wood. They also delivered our Bathtubs and our steal beams! When we walked up further we saw the concrete had been pored in the basement and garage. Hopefully they start framing tomorrow! For now enjoy the photos below :)
So my husband inquired into more information about the rate lock and he got some information back that I was unfamilar with. It is the first time I have heard of this and I just wanted to see if any of you guys have heard of it. Our loan officer told him that if we lock at 60 days and at 3.5 we will receive $1895 off of our closing cost. If we wait to lock at 30 days at which time the rate could be lower and we will not receive any money off of our closing cost.
I am completely confused and wanted to know if any of you guys had heard about this before?
I am so thankful that I do not have to work overtime this week due to the Holidays and I can actually get to the house before dark! I am really impressed with the amount of progress that has happened in the last 48 hours! Not only have they layed the plumbing, filled in the gravel for the garage and installed water proofing: They even back filled the right side of the lot! I could actually walk around without the fear of plumbing 8 feet into a hole! I even could walk into the garage because they layerd it with gravel! I was so excited and impressed today! It really made my day! I am glad to know that when my dad Drives down from Columbus on Thursday to see it, he will have more to look at then concrete walls and dirt lol. In other exciting news... One of the other houses that was dug with ours got their lumber! We are next : D
Now for the fun part...Beautiful Pictures!
Plumbing four our half Bath in the basement :)
Plumbing for water softner and not sure what else. Jason think it is for the extra washer hookup (we got this for the cat toilet) But it looks a little close the the sump pump. we are building a wall to section off the sump pump/water heater/Hvac From the rest of the room. (see my favorite thing so far in the lower right hand corner? lol)
Random picture of more pipes lol
I could actually walk into my garage! I was so excited!
They even put up water proofing! They did such a good job :)
They back filled the right side of the lot so I could walk right up to the edge. I can't wait until they backfill the back of the lot because I have yet to go back there lol.
Keep on blogging! I have been keeping up with your blogs on a daily basis, so even though I do not post every day I do read everyday! Happy building :o)
I finally got to see the house in the daytime on Saturday! It was so cool! We took a ton of pictures! I had not had a chance to post them so I will once again be doing two posts today because I have some even better photos from today! We got to meet our neighbors on Saturday as well. They were in the process of moving in. I was so excited but nervous. The only neighbors I have had before have been in an apartment and we all tend to not like each other for making too much noise lol. I find the further along in the process I go the less words I have to say because I am so excited to show you guys some pictures! So here goes...Enjoy!
Morning room in the back...garage in the front
Picture of our porch...I know it is small but I will love it anyway because it is the first and only porch I have ever owned :)
I can't wait to watch the sunset every night :)
You can't tell but there is a 8-9 foot drop on either side of the concrete and jason just jumped right into the garage lol. I was looking at our neighbors house and then I turned around and he was in the garage.
I am glad he did though because he got some really good pictures in there :) The slots are for the steel beams (my dads most excited about the steel beams. He keeps saying "let me know when those big ole' beams go in!)
Little square is going to be our one and only window. This will also be the exercise/cat area :)
My sump pump....So excited that I will not have water in the basement (hopefully...knock on wood)
Nice picture of the living room/bathroom/family room area :)
Okay so we got an email (finally!) from our PM today. He said they will have the basement walls done this week, the slab and plumbing next week and they will start framing on November 28th!!!!! I am so excited...bet you can't tell. The best part is watching your guys' house go up! Keep the pictures coming. Now time for some basement walls/form pictures :)
Hi I am here! I did not go anywhere! Although I have been absent from the blogging world for almost an entire week, I am have some free time for tonight (for once)... and it is time to play catch up. So I will be posting two blogs. One to recap what was going on over the past week and one to go over what will be coming up this week. And I have lots of pictures to share :)
So here goes. On Saturday ( I think it was Saturday...the last week has kind of been a blur) Jason and I decided it would be a good idea to climb down into the hole. I have to say we had a very fun time doing so and we have pictures to prove it... Enjoy : o )
Before I got brave and climbed in with him lol
Pretty sky and tree! It may have to come down later though...its a little close to our house We will supplement by planting new trees though.
